The DEXA Assessment
In the DEXA assessment at least two skeletal sites are measured - the lumbar spine and the femoral neck region. Occasionally the forearm is also tested if one of the other two sites cannot due to hip replacement or excessive spinal deformities.
The DEXA Assessment:
- takes about 15 minutes.
- is simple, painless and requires no needles.
- no preparation is needed.
- there is no need to get undressed, although belt buckles or metal buttons will need to be removed from the scanning area.
